DeviMat provides efficient underfloor warming in new or existing buildings – e.g. bathrooms, , kitchens, conservatories or anywhere that requires comfortable warmth. It can be used as the only heating source or as an additional source for creating comfortably warm floors. Suited to all new and renovated solid and wooden floors, DeviMat requires no maintenance whatsoever or associated servicing costs. It is guaranteed for 10 years.
Providing comfort at floor level where it is best needed, this system minimises dust and air movements. It also allows greater versatility in furnishing placements and interior design by freeing up valuable wall and floor space that conventional radiator systems would otherwise occupy.
DeviMat cable matting consists of a thin (3.5 mm) earth-screened heating cable affixed to a self-adhesive open mesh. Installation of DeviMat heating is extremely easy and can be carried out by unskilled workers. Only the final quick electrical connections need to be made by qualified staff.
After preparing the surface, in some cases a small groove needs to be channelled in the floor to house a floor thermostat tube. The matting is then simply rolled out, cutting the backing material as appropriate to turn corners or to skirt round fitments. Twin conductor cables require connection at one end only. The entire layer can then be covered by a) one layer of flexible tile adhesive/self-levelling compound that is allowed to dry before tiling or b) by laying tile adhesive and tiles in one operation.
Two types of DeviMat are available – DTIF-100 and DTIF-150. These may be purchased in various lengths from 1m up to 12m to suit the floor area being heated. The width of the mat is 500 mm.
DTIF-100 is suitable for timber-based floors, delivering a maximum heating load of 100 W/m2 DTIF-150 is intended for concrete-based floors with a maximum heating load of 150 W/m2 .
DeviMat systems are ideally controlled by a flush-mounting, intelligent 7-day programmable thermostat, the DeviReg 550, which regulates floor temperature. This can control heating loads up to 3600 Watts and comes with a floor sensor on a 2.5m cable. Alternatively, the wall mounted dial setting thermostat DeviReg 130 (also supplied with a floor sensor) is available.
