Randall - a Major Influence in Heating Controls

Randall Electronics played an important role in the development of time controls for domestic central heating in the early part of the 1960s.

The original products were all electro-mechanically based and for many years dominated the time controls market in the UK.

In the mid 1970s the first of the electronic time controls were introduced and have over the last few years become the dominant form of time controls used in the UK.

In the early 1990s Randall introduced a new thermostat concept to the market which allowed different temperatures to be selected at different times of the day. The programmable thermostat was born.

Since then Danfoss Randall has gone on to develop advanced air-conditioning thermostats for use in North America and in other areas where air-conditioning is in common use.

Higher comfort and optimised energy savings

Higher comfort and optimised energy savings

From the start of the concept Danfoss has been continually developing control components for underfloor heating, and they are now the control manufacturer with both the greatest product portfolio for UFH controls and the one with the widest experience in the field.

Underfloor heating is now becoming a standard complete-house heating system, irrespective of floor materials and coverings and has become a significant and profitable part of the heating market that installers cannot afford to ignore and should not be fearful of.
