Can the cable on the mat be damaged if a ceramic tile is broken?
|
|
It is unlikely that the cable will be damaged as there will be a layer of adhesive between the tile and the DEVIMAT which will offer mechanical protection. Also the DEVIMAT is a screened cable that gives additional protection and strength.
If there is a suspicion that the cable is damaged, the cable should be electrically tested. |

What happens if the floor floods?
|
|
| The cables and cold tail terminations are waterproof. All DEVIMATs have an earthed screen under the outer sheath should a fault occur. |

What happens if the floor is drilled?
|
|
| Floors in which electric heating is installed should not be drilled. However, should the cable be damaged, the earthed screen around the cable will protect the operator by causing the electrical protection device at the supply intake position to switch off the circuit. |
